The fifth international ERASMUS+ STAFF WEEK, titled "Building Effective University Alliances," began on Monday at the University of Mostar. The event was officially opened at the University Television by Prof. Dr. Sanja Bijakšić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, who warmly welcomed all guests and participants.
Vice-Rector Bijakšić emphasized the importance of the ERASMUS+ program as a platform for strengthening international university alliances and exchanging best practices among institutions. She highlighted that this initiative presents an excellent opportunity to establish long-term partnerships and collaboratively address the challenges facing higher education.
Following the opening remarks by Vice-Rector Bijakšić, participants were addressed by Dr. Inja Stojkić, Head of the Office for International Cooperation. Dr. Stojkić presented the University of Mostar, particularly emphasizing its significant role in the academic and social development of the region, along with outlining the activities and objectives of the Office for International Cooperation.
Participants from various countries then had the opportunity to introduce their respective institutions, expressing their desire to deepen mutual collaboration and exchange experiences. During the five-day program at the University of Mostar, a total of 38 participants from partner institutions from Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Germany, Turkey, Austria, Spain, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia will take part.
The program will focus on developing effective university alliances, with special emphasis on the EUPeace project, aimed at promoting peace, dialogue, and cooperation among academic communities in Europe. Through various workshops, panel discussions, and networking events, participants will have the chance to exchange knowledge, experiences, and ideas, fostering the development of new initiatives and joint projects.
The fifth international ERASMUS+ STAFF WEEK at the University of Mostar will run until Friday, March 28, 2025. It is expected to further strengthen international relations and significantly contribute to the development of the universities involved in this valuable project.
