at the University Television premises. The workshop brought together a group of American students who arrived in Mostar as part of a study trip, led by professors Hannaneh Yazdi and Eleftherios Saftis from DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia.

DIS is a non-profit foundation for study abroad programs, established in Denmark in 1959. It offers semester, year-long, and summer programs in Copenhagen and Stockholm to upper-level undergraduate students from top North American colleges and universities. The programs are conducted in English and combine a rigorous academic curriculum with experiential learning and study tours across Europe, led by international faculty.

At the beginning of the workshop, the attendees were welcomed by Dr. Inja Stojkić, Head of the Office for International Cooperation at the University of Mostar. She extended a special welcome to the American professors and students, as well as to the students and professors of the University of Mostar. "This gathering is organized especially for you – to support your interests, curiosity, and desire for learning. We are confident that today’s lectures will provide valuable insights into psychology and neuroscience," Stojkić added.

Through lectures and discussions, students explored various aspects of psychology and neuroscience. Professor Ivona Čarapina Zovko spoke about the impact of loneliness on health, while Professor Hannaneh Yazdi, who is also affiliated with the Karolinska Institute, one of the leading medical universities, presented on the topic of frustration and individual differences in its perception. After that, students participated in an interactive social session, where they exchanged experiences and got to know their peers. Dr. Sanjin Lovrić, Assistant at the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mostar, gave a lecture on early childhood adversity and its impact on later health outcomes.

The workshop was closed by Prof. Dr. Sc. Sanja Bijakšić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, who, on behalf of the Rector of the University of Mostar, Prof. Dr. Sc. Zoran Tomić and the SUM management, expressed her satisfaction that the University of Mostar is hosting this event. She emphasized that this is just the beginning of future cooperation with DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia.

This workshop represents a significant step in academic cooperation between institutions and provides students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the fields of psychology and neuroscience from an international perspective.
