The Rector of the University of Mostar, Prof. Zoran Tomić, PhD, opened the 2024 BRAUIC conference, which this year was hosted by Tianjin Chengjian University. The University of Mostar is a proud participant in the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC), which promotes global cooperation in education, research, and development. In his speech, Rector Tomić emphasized that collaboration with partners provides exceptional opportunities for academic development, giving students and faculty access to invaluable resources and experiences. He also highlighted the importance of joint projects addressing global challenges such as climate change and rapid urbanization, praising cooperation with Chinese universities, including BUCEA, which contributes to the development of sustainable solutions for urban development. “This conference represents an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration, and through joint effort and work, we leave a lasting positive impact on the world and the academic community,” said Rector Tomić.

During the working session of the conference, the Head of the International Relations Office at the University of Mostar, Dr. Inja Stojkić, presented the University of Mostar to the new members of the consortium, emphasizing key aspects of past cooperation and future opportunities for collaboration. This event provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and the strengthening of partnerships among leading global higher education institutions with the goal of advancing education and research on a global scale.

“Through educational cooperation, new opportunities for innovation and the development of knowledge necessary for building more sustainable cities and communities arise. Organizing global conferences and projects that address topics such as urban resilience, green development, and smart urbanism further strengthens the University of Mostar’s role in addressing these critical issues,” said Stojkić.
