The Spanish Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Maria Molina Alvarez de Toledo, visited the University of Mostar, where she met with the University’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Sc. Zoran Tomić. The working meeting was an opportunity to highlight the successful cooperation between the University of Mostar and Spanish higher education institutions to date, as well as to explore new opportunities for collaboration.

Rector Tomić emphasized the significant results of cooperation with Spanish universities, including numerous signed agreements and successfully completed projects. He also added that a total of 241 students and academic staff members participated in mobility programs, which provided opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and ideas.

During the meeting, the steps for further intensifying cooperation were discussed, with particular emphasis on encouraging scientific and research projects, developing publishing activities, expanding mobility opportunities for students and teachers, and creating new opportunities for academic and cultural exchange.

In addition to Ambassador Alvarez, the meeting was attended by Deputy Ambassador Daniel Arteta Rodriguez and Honorary Spanish Consul Pierino Tumbas Deldum. The University delegation, alongside Rector Tomić, included Prof. Dr. Sc. Sanja Bijakšić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Dr. Sc. Inja Stojkić, Head of the International Cooperation Office, and Tonina Ibrulj, Head of the International Ranking Office. This working meeting further confirms the long-standing strong ties between the University of Mostar and Spanish higher education institutions, which, through their cooperation, have achieved significant results in scientific and research work, student and academic staff mobility, and academic exchange. Ambassador Alvarez's visit marks an important step in further developing new forms of collaboration that will bring mutual benefits, with particular focus on expanding international programs, enhancing educational and research capacities, and creating new opportunities for networking and innovation.
