Professors and students of the Pennsylvania State University, one of the largest public universities in the United States of America, visited the University of Mostar, i.e., the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Mostar, and then the Rector's Office, where a meeting was held with members of the Management of the University of Mostar. The delegation of the Pennsylvania State University consisted of Prof. Dr. Norman Benjamin Fredrick, director of the Global State Center; Prof. Dr. Nasrollah Ghahramani, professor of medicine and public health sciences; Prof. Dr. Gisoo Ghaffari, professor of medicine, and fourth-year students of the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine; Alma Jusufagić and Pierce Curran. On behalf of the University of Mostar, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof Sanja Bijakšić, PhD; Vice-Rector for Business, Human Resources and Quality Management, Prof Zdenko Klepić, PhD; Assistant-Rector for Information Technology and Innovation, Tomislav Volarić, PhD, and Marta Rajič, a sixth-year student at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Mostar hosted the delegation.
The topic of the meeting was strengthening two-way communication and formalizing relations to ultimately establish inter-university cooperation to develop all scientific and educational activities of both universities, especially in the fields of medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and physiotherapy. The conversation is a continuation of the visit to the Faculty of Medicine of SUM, during which the Penn State University delegation visited several teaching bases and laboratories of biomedical sciences. Also, in the conversation, cooperation in the field of the IT sector and innovation was highlighted as particularly important.
