As part of the EU Peace Alliance, and organized by Work Package 3, the first Winter School "Teaching from/for/towards EUPeace Perspective" was held. The Winter School took place from January 27 to 31 at the Rauischholzhausen Castle (Ebsdorfergrund, Germany) and was organized by two German universities, JLU and UMR, which are part of the EUPeace alliance. The Winter School gathered over 50 participants from all nine EUPeace partner universities. The five-day program of the Winter School was divided into eight workshops focused on the internationalization of educators and enhancing their competencies related to the core themes of peace, justice, and societal inclusiveness. The very intense Winter School program included interactive workshops on topics such as social justice and language, intercultural education, equality and fairness, inclusivity, as well as a guest lecture on Promoting Critical Inclusion.
As a parallel part of the Winter School activities, JLU and UMR also organized the first WP3 Internship Meeting. Since one of the main tasks of Work Package 3 within the EUPeace alliance is the internationalization of teacher education, the Internship Meeting discussed facilitating and promoting work-based learning in an international environment and the challenges associated with internships in schools, particularly related to local regulations for internships in teacher education programs.
Representatives from the University of Mostar who participated in the Winter School included Prof. Marija Čutura, Prof. Jelena Jurčić, assistant Ilija Perutina, and students Elena Krmek, Marija Iličić, Vlatka Leko, and Tea Rašić.
