The two-day kick-off meeting for the ERASMUS+ CBHE project "Development of Strategies and Research and Development Centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina" (RDBIH) was held at the University of Sarajevo on February 12 and 13, 2025.

The meeting provided an opportunity for a detailed presentation of the project objectives, partner introductions, and the formation of the Management and Local Committees. The second workshop was crucial as it focused on topics related to project implementation. Within the workshop, areas such as dissemination and sustainability, quality control and monitoring, result analysis, and milestones for 2025 were addressed, along with the Action Plan for the first year of the project implementation, including the travel plan. Special emphasis was placed on financial and administrative aspects of reporting, as well as the signing of partnership agreements.

At the end of the meeting, discussions and a summary of key conclusions took place, setting the foundation for the successful implementation of the project in the coming months. The project coordinator is the University of Novi Sad, and the project began on November 1, 2024, with a planned duration of 48 months. Project partners include leading universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, international partners, and relevant ministries. The project’s goals include the development of research and development strategies at the entity/regional level in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the establishment of R&D centers at universities, and the creation of a network of these centers across the country.

The project brings together leading universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, international partners, and relevant ministries: University of Zenica, University of Tuzla, University of East Sarajevo, University of Banja Luka, University of Sarajevo, University of Mostar, Technische Hochschule Ulm (Germany), University of Macedonia (Greece), Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Ministry of Science, Education, Culture and Sports of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Ministry of Education and Science of Tuzla Canton, Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj Canton, as well as the BIT Alliance of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The specific objectives of the RDBIH project include the development of research and development strategies for entities/regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the establishment of R&D centers at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the development of a network of R&D centers throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
