The first kick-off meeting of the Sustainable Project Management in Balkan HEIs (SuProM) project was held at the University of Ljubljana from January 29 to 31, 2025. The project aims to improve the inclusive and fair quality of international project management in higher education institutions in third countries. It will play a key role in strengthening international cooperation and increasing the internationalization of higher education institutions, with a focus on empowering regional partnerships and sharing best practices in project management.
The University of Mostar was represented at the meeting by project leader Prof. Katerina Malić Bandur and Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Sanja Bijakšić. A special focus of this project is on strengthening the administrative capacities of the target higher education institutions, aiming to provide quality support to staff and students involved in international cooperation and mobility. During the three-day meeting presentations and workshops were held on topics related to the analysis of project management processes at higher education institutions, the implementation of project management training, the development of project management courses, and the dissemination and exploitation of project results. Additionally, further steps for project implementation were agreed upon, including the next meeting and training to be held in Elbasan, Albania. The project represents an important step in strengthening international cooperation and the internationalization of the higher education sector.
