A 19% increase in the number of enrolled freshmen compared to the previous academic year, indicating growing interest in the study programs of the University of Mostar, was adopted as information at the regular session of the University Senate, along with data on student enrollment in the first year of undergraduate and integrated studies for the 2024/2025 academic year. This positive trend is the result of continuous improvements to the study programs, modernization of teaching methods, and strengthening cooperation with the economy and community.
The University Senate made a decision to allocate one-time financial funds from the Fund for Socially Disadvantaged Students – the SUM Foundation. After the application procedure, a total of 45 students met the criteria and will receive one-time financial assistance based on these criteria. The one-time financial funds are awarded as support to students of the University of Mostar who are in a difficult financial situation, socially and health-wise disadvantaged students, students without parents, single-parent students, and students coming from socially disadvantaged families or families with many children.
The Senate also conducted elections and re-elections for scientific-teaching and artistic-teaching titles, electing one full professor, ten associate professors, ten assistant professors, five senior assistants, and two assistants. Additionally, important procedural decisions were adopted, such as the appointment of a committee to evaluate and defend doctoral thesis topics and the approval of the report from this committee.
Finally, the Senate gave its consent for the University, through its publisher PRESSUM, to publish five books from various scientific fields, thus promoting the expansion of scientific and professional publications. These decisions reflect the University of Mostar's ongoing commitment to enhancing its academic and scientific infrastructure, confirming its key role in education and science at the regional level.
